Alhamdulillah.
By the grace of Almighty Allah, the Ladies’ Wing and male members of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Tirupattur, visited Boomithai Old Age Home as part of an initiative to connect with and support elderly residents.
During the visit, the team met 20 elderly women and spent time interacting with them. The residents were happy to welcome the visitors and appreciated their presence.
The team learned that a caretaker looks after the residents, while a staff member prepares meals for them three times a day. A nurse also visits weekly to monitor their health. Many of the residents have been living at the home for around five years, while one Muslim resident has been staying there for the past three years.
Sweets were distributed to all the residents as a gesture of affection and goodwill. The Boomithai organisation also kindly arranged lunch for the visiting team.
The visit provided an opportunity to share companionship with the elderly and reflect on the importance of compassion, care and respect for older people.
Alhamdulillah.
